He Museum of Music and Lojanidad, also known as Museum of Loja Culture, It is a leading cultural institution in southern Ecuador. It is an integral part of the project to rescue and disseminate the intangible heritage of Loja, historically recognized as the "Musical Capital of Ecuador." The museum is located in a restored heritage building, an environment that in itself evokes the city's rich cultural history.

Its primary mission is to preserve and showcase the province's musical and artistic heritage, honoring its celebrated composers, musicians, and poets. It functions as a dynamic center that not only exhibits but also promotes musical research and performance.

Tribute to Composers

It dedicates significant spaces to leading figures such as Salvador Bustamante Celi, Segundo Cueva Celi, and the prolific M.A. Eguiguren, among others. Original scores, letters, photographs, and personal belongings are on display.


Music and Genres from Loja

Explore the diversity of rhythms and genres that have marked the region, from pasillos and waltzes to Andean folk rhythms.

 


Historical Instruments

A detailed collection of antique musical instruments, many of them used by the great orchestras of Loja and the city's Band of Musicians.
